Canada Pension Plan Class Action

In December of 2012, the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development announced that an electronic storage device, known as a USB key, containing the confidential personal information of 5,000 Canadians who applied for disability benefits, pensions, old age security benefits, employment insurance or child care tax credits and other benefits went missing.

The law firms of Bob Buckingham Law, Branch MacMaster LLP, Falconer Charney LLP and Sutts, Strosberg LLP commenced a proposed class action against the Attorney General of Canada on behalf of all persons whose information was lost.
